A Real Life Story
A very peculiar and moving real life story I want to narrate to all of you today. Back in 1954, a gentleman named Roger Bannister made a world record by completing a race of one mile in 4 minutes. That’s praiseworthy. Over and above that he changed the people’s mindset who believed that it is impossible to cover a mile in 4 minutes.
Breaking the Norm
Before 1954, it was thought that a mile can be covered in 5 minutes or more and it is not humanly possible to do it in less than 5 minutes. But this man did it. Surprisingly, in the next week 4 more men completed the same distance in 4 minutes. How funny is that! The reality is not that it was impossible rather it was the conditioning of mind which restricted people from ever trying to cover a mile as fast as possible.
This life story outlines the fact that we don’t posses limitations but it’s our mind that conditions us to act in limited ways. In order to bring a change in one’s life, or society one has to be the change. Today’s generation has that spark and ready to take risks in life because risk is inevitable. Risks may not always ripe results but they will land you somewhere and if not then definitely people around you will get fresh ideas to materialise them with more ease and intelligence. Still you are in win-win situation because you were the cause of that betterment.
